SPAIN AIMS TO DUPLICATE THE USE OF BIOFUELS IN TRANSPORT

The Spanish government prepares a Royal Decree to double the weight of biofuels in transport, from 7% reached last year to 14% in 2030.
The current regulations set a target of final energy consumption of biofuels in transport of 10% in 2020 and according to the latest data from the National Commission of Markets and Competition, published this week , last year they reached 6, 9%, practically fulfilling the milestone established for the year, of 7%.
Looking ahead to the next decade, Directive 2018/2001, of December 11, establishes that each European State must compel fuel suppliers to guarantee that the minimum share of biofuels in transport is 14% in 2030.
